Who We Are

The Story of
Mithilla

A love letter to Indian craft, written in thread and colour.

Our Beginning

Born from a grandmother's saree trunk

Mithilla started in 2019 when our founder Kavya opened her grandmother's old trunk and found sarees that told stories — of weddings, of harvests, of women who wore their culture with quiet confidence.

She couldn't find anything like them in modern stores. So she went looking — to the weavers of Varanasi, the block printers of Bagru, the Mithila artists of Bihar — and brought their work to the world.

Today Mithilla is a small but growing family of artisans, curators, and customers who believe that traditional clothing deserves a permanent place in modern wardrobes.

What Drives Us

Our Values

Rooted in Heritage

Every piece we carry traces back to centuries-old craft traditions — Mithila paintings, Banarasi weaves, block prints from Rajasthan.

Artisan First

We work directly with weavers and craftspeople across India, ensuring fair wages and preserving skills that can't be taught in a factory.

Slow Fashion

No fast drops, no overproduction. Each collection is small, intentional, and made to last a lifetime — not a season.

Worn with Pride

Traditional clothing isn't costume. It's identity. We exist to make it easy for you to carry that identity into everyday life.
